Press Release

Tallahassee - Former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey will headline a James Madison Institute luncheon on Thursday, November 6, at noon at the Silver Slipper Restaurant, 531 Silver Slipper Lane, Tallahassee.  Armey will speak on "A Freedom Agenda."

Dick Armey served as Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives and served in Congress for 18 years representing his home district of Dallas, Texas.  Holding a Ph.D. in economics, he was the ranking Republican on the Joint Economic Committee, chairman of the GOP Conference, and chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security.  He retired from Congress in 2003 and is currently co-chairman of Citizens for a Sound Economy.
