July 14, 2015More than 300 rising seniors from across the state of Florida participated in a panel discussion hosted by The James Madison Institute (JMI) in coordination with the weeklong American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Conference today. The conference provides the opportunity for Girls State Delegates from all Florida counties to participate in mock elections, learn about how Florida’s state and local governments operate, as well as how to be an active, responsible citizen.Panel speakers included:• Legislative: State Representative Michelle Rehwinkel-Vasilinda (D-Tallahassee)• Judicial: Former Circuit Judge Josefina Tamayo, 2nd Judicial Circuit Court of Leon County• Executive: Lieutenant Colonel Kelly Hildreth, Florida Highway Patrol and Deputy Director for Field Operations
