Logan Elizabeth Padgett is the Senior Vice President at The James Madison Institute. She oversees JMI’s policy operation, coalition building, and strategy deployment. She is also responsible for developing short and long-term communications strategies in order to promote the organization’s brand and advance its efforts. She serves as the main point of contact for news and print media. Logan is also responsible for building and maintaining the Institute’s relationships with government officials and civic leaders on the federal, state and local levels.

Previously Logan was the State Government Relations Manager at The Heartland Institute and a former JMI intern.

Logan is the co-author of The Heartland Institute’s “2015 Welfare Reform Report Card.” Her work has appeared in several publications, including Forbes, Fox News Opinion, The Washington Times, The Daily Caller, National Review, Breitbart, Townhall Magazine. She has presented expert testimony on health care, and budget and tax related issues in state legislatures across the country.

In 2021, Logan earned recognition in INFLUENCE Magazine as a 30 Under 30 Rising Star in Florida Politics.

A proud graduate of Florida State University, she has Bachelor of Science degrees in both Political Science and International Affairs. During her undergraduate experience at Florida State University, Logan was an active member of the Student Government Association and a Young Life leader.

Logan, her husband Carl, and their two sons Jack and Luke, reside in Perry, Florida. She enjoys cooking, running, boating, fishing, playing with her two dogs, Maggie and Laila, and cheering on the Florida State Seminoles. Her work in government relations and her passion for traveling have taken her to 43 of the 50 U.S. States.
