Turner Loesel is a Research Assistant for the Center for Technology and Innovation at the James Madison Institute. There, he assists Dr. Edward Longe in researching technological advancements, emphasizing free market strategies to enhance Floridians’ benefits from emerging technologies

Prior to joining JMI in August of 2023, Turner served as a legislative intern at the Florida House of Representatives. As an undergraduate, he investigated policy measures addressing the challenges posed by predatory lending institutions, particularly payday loans.

He is a recent graduate of Florida State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Political Science. Turner maintained a passion for service during his time at FSU, taking on various leadership roles including Morale Coordinator for Dance Marathon, Greek Delegate for Best Buddies, and Philanthropy Chair for Sigma Phi Epsilon. He is a native Floridian — born and raised in sunny South Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys testing new recipes and running… to help offset his culinary experiments.
