In the World of Think Tankery Today Donny and Johntalk about an article and testimony by theCascade Policy Institutediscussing the plan to phase out coal power plants in the state and instituting a 50% renewable mandate. Thetestimony on the planargues the mandate would increase the cost of electricity and potentially destabilize the entire electrical grid. They also talk about an article by theJames Madison Institutetitled “Would Florida be Better Off as Two States Rather than One?” Recently the South Miami City Commission proposed a plan to secede the bottom 24 counties into a new state.
