JMI Applauds Federal Government on New Tax Credit Proposal
Statement by The James Madison Institute J. Stanley Marshall Center for Educational Options Director William Mattox
The James Madison Institute lauds the leadership of U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos in proposing a new federal tax credit to give families greater educational options. We are particularly pleased that Secretary DeVos has taken considerable care to ensure that this new federal tax credit upholds the primary role of parents in the education of their children without usurping or supplanting the important role that state governments also play in education policy. Families today ought to be able to choose the educational options that best fit their children. We are pleased that the Trump Administration is taking appropriate action to ensure that parents have wider options.
