November 5, 2014Rick Scott, one of the nation’s most vulnerable incumbents, narrowly won re-election Tuesday after turning back former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, who was trying to return to office as a Democrat. He edged Crist by a margin of 48 percent to 47 percent.It was the second time that Scott won a close election. Four years ago he defeated Democrat Alex Sink by more than 61,000 votes.Here is a compilation of reactions and statements to Gov. Scott’s re-election:The Republican Governors Association’s Chris Christie:
“Governor Rick Scott’s leadership in his first term brought Florida back from the brink, and with four more years to enact his low-tax, pro-jobs, pro-growth agenda, the Sunshine State’s future just gets brighter from here,” said RGA Chairman Chris Christie. “Governor Scott’s message in this campaign was one of true progress, and his victory is a testament to the real results he has achieved for Florida. The Republican Governors Association congratulates Governor Rick Scott on his re-election.”
Speaker Designate Steve Crisafulli:

I am grateful they have given us a super majority of Republicans to the Florida House, continued a Republican Majority in the Florida Senate, maintained a strong Republican Cabinet, and re-elected Governor Scott.
