Commenting on the appointment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the position of Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, The James Madison Institute’s President and CEO Dr. Robert McClure said the following:
For 231 years, our Constitution and Bill of Rights have stood as a testament to the principles of Federalism. These principles are worthy of a Supreme Court that upholds them, and we thank President Trump for continuing to fulfill his pledge to pick the most qualified nominees from his released list. In choosing Judge Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court of the United States, President Trump has chosen a jurist with superb credentials, a judicial philosophy above reproach, and a temperament well-suited for the highest court in the land.
We encourage both of our home Senators, Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson, to afford Judge Kavanaugh a vote of the full Senate so that all members have the chance to publicly declare their judgment of his qualifications.
