On Tuesday evening, the country lost a patriot and the conservative movement lost a giant in the battle for liberty.
Bob Williams was the Founder and Senior Fellow of the Freedom Foundation and a nationally recognized expert in the areas of fiscal and tax policies, election reform and disaster preparedness. He was President of State Budget Solutions. He served as an auditor at the Pentagon, five terms in the Washington State Legislature and was the 1988 Republican nominee for governor. Bob is a member of the Board of Advisors and a past Board member of the State Policy Network. He was an American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) scholar and has served on several ALEC Task Forces, helping to formulate model legislation. He authored or co-authored more than 200 major monographs and studies, and hundreds of policy briefs related to various public policy issues.
“Bob Williams’ legacy will live on for generations in the hearts and minds of those who loved him, worked with him, and were mentored by him. His footprint on the path of liberty will be visible for long after we all are gone. Our prayers are with his family as they celebrate his life and grieve his passing. A life well lived – rest in peace Bob. We are all better because of you.” –Dr. Robert McClure, President and CEO, The James Madison Institute
