By the time you read this, April 15th may have come and gone. But do you know the importance of April 5th, April 9th or even April 27th?We all know the 15th as Income Tax Day. What you may not know is that April 9th is Tax Freedom Day – the date which the average American has worked long enough to pay all tax obligations – local, state and federal. Florida’s Tax Freedom Day is actually April 5th, while Connecticut’s Tax Freedom Day occurs the latest day of all 50 states, April 27th.For the average American, taxes will amount to roughly 27 percent of total income in 2010, and according to the Tax Foundation, that is more than what one pays typically, for food, clothing and shelter combined – that’s combined. And with this administration and the current Congressional makeup, unfortunately for you and me, Tax Freedom Day may be much later in future years. So let’s get to work and stop this assault on our freedoms and our property.“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men (and women) who pervert the Constitution.” A. Lincoln
