The Dos and Don’ts of Cybersecurity and Digital Literacy
Every day, cybercriminals will target government entities, private citizens, and businesses in an attempt to steal sensitive data or extract ransoms. The emotional, financial, and reputational damage can be crippling. Yet, state governments have been reluctant to invest in cybersecurity programs or have proposed legislation that would weaken cyber defenses, leaving citizens, businesses, and individuals vulnerable to criminal networks. In this panel, we will explore why state governments, including fiscally conservative red states, should prioritize investment in cybersecurity education programs, cyber defenses, and workforce development. The cost of failing to invest could, after all, be far higher.
